Deferred Cleaning

Traditionally, once a clinician finished seeing a patient in a room, a “runner” would come to the room to prepare it for the next patient. Such room turnover might include replacing the paper sheet on the exam bed, amongst other cleaning and disinfection tasks.

CHIME allow clinicians to communicate with staff via the tablet when checking out whether the cleaning should be deferred (as per the image, options of 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes). For example, to allow a patient to get changed, or if a patient is feeding their baby in the room. This shows staff that that should wait a specific amount of time before entering to clean the room.
