Add-On Tasks

We have added the ability to add on additional tasks that the MD would like to be completed to patient’s appointments, that can be assigned to either an admin/usher, or Nurse.

It is also possible to control which add ons are available from which rooms. For example, a procedure room might have special add ons that don't exist for regular exam rooms.

Add-on Tablet Tasks

Examples of Admin or Nurse tasks to add on to appointments:

  • I want to see my patient after task - this would trigger the MD to return after the usher / nurse has completed their task, instead of the patient being checked-out and getting the ‘room needs cleaning’ screen

  • Take patient’s height

  • Weight

  • Blood Pressure

  • 15 minute wait after appointment (send patient to waiting room)

Examples of additional Nurse specific tasks to add on to appointments:

  • Vaccines

  • ECG

  • Wound care

  • Ear syringe

  • Nurse Assist (i.e. chaperone, or assist needed)

Option for admin/nurse to choose whether MD input is needed

We’ve added a feature that will allow ushers/Nurses to choose whether MD input is needed after checking out for tasks that were assigned to them via the tablet by the MD.

This is related to the add-on of “I want to see my patient after task” for certain add-ons. The MD can add task via the tablet and checks off the “MD to see patient after” option as well as any other options they need.

The Usher / Nurse checks in for that task on the tablet and selects their name. Once completed, the Usher / Nurse completes the task.

Once the Usher / Nurse checks out via the table, at which point they are automatically and always presented with the screen below.

The Usher / Nurse can then decide to select the MD/NP INPUT task to put the patient back into the MD’s queue or they can ‘Check Out Normally’.

If the MD does not want to see the patient afterwards the Usher / Nurse would simply tap “CHECKOUT” and then select the “Check Out Normally” option.
