What needs to get installed?
Here’s the gist of what needs to get done from a hardware perspective:
We are happy to provide instructions and the hardware and let the clinic handle this themselves - please reach out to your account manager to discuss this. We are also happy to take responsibility for hiring an external contractor to do this work. Our experience and budget for this work is $2000 for a 10 room clinic.
Ethernet cables need to be run to the outside of each exam room. Best case the cables come from the clinic’s existing patch panel, but that is NOT mandatory. Please see more information here under the heading “Powering The Tablets” https://help.chimeclinic.com/chime-room-tablets This is 90% of the work of installation.
Gangboxes need to be installed outside each exam room, and the tablets mounted onto the gangbox. Please see more information here under the heading “Mounting the Tablets” https://help.chimeclinic.com/chime-room-tablets This is 9% of the remaining 10%.
The tablets need to be connected to the clinic’s existing WiFi. Best case they are provided a separate SSID to connect to, but the clinic’s existing SSID is fine as well. More information is available here: https://help.chimeclinic.com/clinic-it-infrastructure
A small device needs to be connected to each TV. This device is WiFi enabled, and is small enough to be velcroed to the TV. It does need a nearby power outlet though. More information Is available here: https://help.chimeclinic.com/chime-waiting-room-screens
A small server needs to be installed within the clinic’s IT room. It usually just sits on a shelf instead of being rack mounted. In addition, depending on whether your existing network switch has sufficient ports and POE capacity, you might need to install an extra 1U switch just to send power to the tablets. This switch does NOT need to be connected to your network. Please see the information here: https://help.chimeclinic.com/clinic-it-infrastructure
We ask that the server get assigned a fixed IP address via DHCP. The tablets and other clinic devices will need to be allowed to access the server via HTTP/HTTPS. More information is available here: https://help.chimeclinic.com/clinic-it-infrastructure
A free standing kiosk needs to be assembled.
