In Clinic Patient Check-In Process

Our Streamlined Patient Self Check-in

When patients arrive onsite, patients will use the self-check in kiosk to review a list of appointments identified only by patient first name, clinician, and appointment time.

Patients check in by selecting themselves from the list; mistakes are prevented by asking patients to confirm the first letter of their last name.

Clinics can also add additional slides for patients to review (e.g. ask the patient to confirm that they understand the masking situation of the clinic, and/or to help ensure a high quality of data in your EMR, patients can be asked to confirm their contact information every visit)

To streamline visits, patients can be selectively provided with special pre-visit instructions, such as:

  • To provide a urine sample

  • To complete a paper form

  • To undress their child once roomed

If a patient does not explicitly acknowledge these instructions, staff can be notified via the complimentary notification tablet.

Once the patient has completed the check in process on the kiosk, the patient’s name will be displayed on the waiting room TV with their estimated wait time.

  • Patients who arrive late can be warned and directed to speak to the human receptionist

  • Patients can request human assistance (requests are sent to a separate mobile tablet or smartphone, the “notification tablet”)

The above video also provides a demo of the check in kiosk interface.
