Patient prioritization

CHIME allows clinics to prioritize specific patients, to help to ensure that urgent cases are handled quickly and efficiently, even in high-demand situations.

If there are no appropriate rooms available and staff attempt to manually advance a patient into a room, a pop-up will appear asking if the patient should be prioritized above others. If the staff clicks "yes," this visit is treated as the highest priority and is roomed in the next available appropriate room. This patient will be displayed with a star next to their name for easy identification.

This feature is only available when the rooms are occupied, allowing staff to manually prioritize an important visit if the clinic is busy.

In the past, if the clinic was at capacity or if no clean rooms were available, prioritized patients could not be automatically assigned a room. This often required turning off auto-rooming or manually watching the system very closely.
