Subvisit Configuration Options
“Subvisits” in CHIME are the individuals steps that make up a patient’s overall “visit”. Subvisits can have many configuration options. Some are self-explanatory, other’s warrant clarification:
Primary Clinician: This is the clinician that the appointment is “mainly” with. This should be set correctly as it affects many aspects of CHIME’s auto-pilot functionality. For example, if a clinician is configured to have a maximum number of patients assigned into rooms, it only applies to those patients for which that clinician is the primary clinician.
Auto Start: This determines whether a particular subvisit will automatically “start”, or whether it must be manually started. For example, sometimes visits will include a “waiting” subvisit where the patient must sit in a room alone for a period of time. Those “waiting” subvisits are oftentimes "auto-started”.
Auto Finished: This determines whether a particular subvisit will automatically “finish” once the configured length elapses, or whether it must be manually finished. For example, sometimes visits will include a “waiting” subvisit where the patient must sit in a room alone for a period of time. Those “waiting” subvisits are oftentimes "auto-finished”.
Eligible Rooms: These are the specific rooms that specific subvisit is eligible to be automatically assigned into. This will affect functionality such as the manual advance functionality and the auto-room functionality.
Auto Room: This checkbox determines whether, if the patient is currently in a waiting room, whether the auto-pilot will attempt to auto-room this patient. For example, if a patient checks in late, the system will uncheck this box to give staff an opportunity to decide what to do.
Start All Subsequent: There are unique situations where multiple subvisits should be deemed “started” at the same time.
Dynamically Reassign: There are unique situations where subvisits can be dynamically reassigned between clinicians. If that feature is enabled for the clinic generally, this controls whether this specific subvisit is eligible to be dynamically reassigned.
Keep in Room: This feature is relevant for all subvisits except the last subvisit. It determines what happens to the patient once this current subvisit is finished. Is the patient kept in the same room, or are they deemed to be send back to a waiting room?
Skip Cleaning: This feature is relevant whenever a patient is deemed to have exited a room, either because “keep in room” is unchecked, or because the last subvisit has completed. If “Skip Cleaning” is not checked, then the room will enter a yellow “Rooms Needs Cleaning” state. If “Skip Cleaning” is checked, the room will automatically return to a green “Room is Ready” state.
