How do I undo a check-in or an advance?


Undo a check-in

When you manually check in a patient using the dashboard, an UNDO button will briefly appear at the top, for approximately 5 - 10 seconds.

To UNDO the check-in, click this button:

  • this will return the check-in patient back into the list of “scheduled” patients

  • manually delete, if necessary, the patient from the clinician’s queue.

Please note:

  • this UNDO option is only available for a short period because aspects of CHIME must be “paused” while this UNDO option is visible. Once CHIME automatically resumes, the option to UNDO will not longer be available because CHIME cannot “turn back time”.

  • If your organization is encountering situations where the limitations on this UNDO button are resulting in problems, please contact your account manager. They will work with you to explore the root problem, and will propose alternative solutions such as adding confirmation boxes or other guardrails to prevent user error.

Undo an advance

If a patient is incorrectly advanced from the waiting room into a room, you can drag them back to the appropriate waiting room.

However, in other situations such as if a patient is already in a room waiting, “advancing” through the dashboard cannot be undone. Doing so would require “turning back time” so to speak, which isn’t readily possible.
