MD Instructions Unclear/Missing

Sometimes, instructions in CHIME will be unclear. When this happens, contact the physician or staff directly to clarify.

For example…

Message the physician to get clarification of what they’re asking:

FIRST NAME, LAST INITIAL was added to the admin queue with the instruction [COPY MD INSTRUCTIONS]. Please clarify these instructions - we think you want us to [INSERT YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE INSTRUCTION]

OR

FIRST NAME, LAST INITIAL was added to the admin queue without instructions. Please advise admin of how the patient should be handled eg:

-Ask patient to rebook appointment

-Reschedule patient to a specific time

-Advise patient that you will be calling them within the hour
